Step 1
Browse to the Christmas ornament background imageThe first step in this project, is to download the Christmas ornament background image that I created for you, and save it in the "My Pictures" folder in the "My Documents" folder on your computer. Using your web browser, go to the web page at: http://qtmonster.typepad.com/ehow/ornamentCardFlat.jpg to save the Christmas ornament background image.

Click on Save Image AsWhen you see the Christmas ornament image, with your mouse over the image, right click and select (by clicking on) the "Save Image As".

Step 3
Save the Christmas card background imageIn the "Save Image" dialogue box that appears, navigate to the "My Pictures" folder in the "My Documents" folder on your computer, and save the Christmas ornament image on your computer.

Launch Microsoft WordLaunch Microsoft Word. For this ornament Christmas card project. I used the Word 2003 version of this program.

Prepare to set the Christmas card marginsPrepare to set the page margins for the ornament Christmas card document. Select "Page Setup" from the File menu.

Set the margins of the Christmas cardOn the "Margins" tab of the Page Setup dialogue box, set the Top margin to 6", and set the Bottom, Left and Right margins to .5. Click on the OK button.

Step 7
Prepare to set view to whole pageLet's zoom out so you can see the entire ornament Christmas card on your computer screen. Click on "Zoom" from the View menu.

Set Zoom to Whole PageIn the Zoom dialogue box select "Whole page" in the "Zoom to" section, then click OK.

What the Christmas card document looks like at this stepThis is what your ornament Christmas card document looks like now.

Prepare to insert the ornament image to the front of your Christmas cardTo begin inserting the Christmas ornament picture onto the ornament Christmas card, select "Picture" from the Insert menu-then click on "From File".

Step 11
Insert the awesome ornament image on Christmas CardIn the "Insert Picture" dialogue box, click on the image named "ornamentCardFlat.jpg", then click on the Insert button.

Finished Christmas card frontThe front of your Christmas card is now complete. Be sure to save your Christmas card front document, then close this file.

Step 13
Prepare to set the paper orientation for the Christmas cardTo create the inside of your ornament Christmas card, open a new Microsoft Word document. To change the margins for the inside of the ornament Christmas card, click on "Page Setup" from the File menu.

Set the margins of the Christmas cardOn the "Margins" tab of the Page Setup dialogue box, set the Top margin to 6", and set the Bottom, Left and Right margins to .5. Click on the OK button.

Set the text alignment to center for the text on theinside of the Christmas cardSet the text alignment to center for this text by clicking on the "Center" align button on the Formatting toolbar.

Step 16
Enter the 2 lines of text for the Christmas CardEnter the first line of text for the inside of the ornament Christmas card: May the spirit of the Holiday Season. Then press the Enter key to begin a new line of text and enter: Be with you throughout the New Year.

Select Font from the Format menuTo format these two lines of text, select these lines of text, then click on "Font" from the Format menu.

Step 18
Format the font of the Christmas card textIn the Font dialogue box, be sure that the "Font" tab is active. In the "Font" tab, select "Birch Script Std" as the Font (or any other font that you like). The other Font dialogue box settings are: Font style: Bold Size: 26 Font color: Green. Click on the OK button to close the Font dialogue box

Prepare to set the paragraph formatting for the first line of textPrepare to adjust the paragraph spacing of the first line of text so that this text is shifted down on the page. To do this, select the first line of text then click on "Paragraph" on the Format menu.

Set the paragraph spacing for the first line of textIn the Paragraph dialogue box, on the Indents and Spacing tab, in the Spacing section, set "Before" to 78 pt. Click the OK button.

Prepare to set the paragraph formatting for the second line of textPrepare to adjust the paragraph spacing of the second line of text so that this text is shifted down on the page. To do this, select the second line of text then click on "Paragraph" on the Format menu.

Set the paragraph spacing for the second line of textIn the Paragraph dialogue box, on the Indents and Spacing tab, in the Spacing section, set "Before" to 12 pt. Click the OK button.

Now you need to print the front and back of your ornament Christmas card. I used my ink jet printer, and the final result was very nice.
