Things You'll Need:
- A willingness to try
- An open mind
- A desire to get better
-
Step 1
Drink Plenty of WaterWatch your diet.
Drink plenty of water, as often the symptoms of depression can be mimicked or enhanced by dehydration.
Regulate your refined sugar intake. Sugar is a known depressant. While it gives you a momentary high, it also soon brings you down. -
Step 2
SunlightChange your environment.
Open your blinds and curtains and let the sunlight in and, if possible, walk outside into the sunlight for a few minutes.
The sun's rays actually activate Vitamin D in your body, which is good for you, and studies show that exercise gives you endorphins which help lift your mood. -
Step 3
Let it go.Let go.
If there was an event that brought the depression on, dwelling on that event will only hold you in the prison of depression.
Let it go, CHOOSE to forgive, and refuse to speak or think negatively.
