November 11 is the day that America says "Thank you" to living veterans who have served our country. Most schools acknowledge this holiday with special programs and guest speakers as well as a moment of silence to commemorate those that have given their lives in dedication for our great nation.     Seek out an active duty pen pal. There are thousands of men and women serving our country around the globe. When they are so far away from home and family, it is often comforting to receive correspondence from someone who cares.

    Hold a fundraiser to gather items for care packages to be sent to active troops.

    Visit a veterans hospital and speak to injured vets who put their selves in harms way for our safety.
