The 2009 inauguration parade is bound to be as exciting as any event surrounding this year's inauguration of Barack Obama. The Armed Forces Inaugural Committee (AFIC) forms after the PIC. They are responsible for organizing the requests from various groups to participate in the inaugural events. Go to http://www.afic.northcom.mil/participation/parade.html

  2. Step 2

The deadline for applying to take part in the 2009 Presidential inauguration parade is November 14, 2008. You can either apply online or through the mail, though the online application method is preferred. View and print out the application instructions for participation in the 2009 inauguration parade.

  3. Step 3

To be considered for the inaugural parade a descriptive narrative is part of the application. This narrative describes what you will contribute to the inaugural parade or event and why you should be selected. Make sure to set yourself a part from the other marching bands or performers to the Presidential Inaugural Committee.

  4. Step 4

Do not sell yourself short in applying to take part in the parade. This will be a momentous event watched my millions of people. If you are part of a group, band, or have some other talent that would lend to the excitement of the inaugural day parade then APPLY. Have someone assist you in the application process if conveying yourself written or verbally is not your strong point.

  5. Step 5

If you do not want to actually take part in the inauguration parade as a performer, but are interested in watching the parade, get there early. The hype surrounding the election and the 2009 inaugural events are marking history, and many people want to take part in any piece of it. If you can afford to go to the parade, get there, and be a part of this historic event.

Tips & Warnings
  • don't think that whatever you or your group does is not important enough to be considered
  • it is recommended to accompany the application with audio or video so make sure that this is your quality performance
  • make sure to follow all instructions and turn the application in on time
