Things You'll Need:
- 1/2 cup of softened butter or margarine
- 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
- 1/8 cup milk
- 4 cups of confectioners sugar
- Electric mixer
- Medium bowl
- Food coloring (optional)

Step 1
Crean butterIn medium bowl, use electric mixer and beat butter and vanilla flavoring until it has a creamy texture.

Add confectioners sugarAdd milk into the mixture a little at a time. Slowly add confectioners sugar a little at a time and beat until completely blended. If icing is too thin, add a little more confectioners sugar. If the icing is too dry, add a little more milk.

Step 3
Blend completelyContinue to beat the icing with the electric mixer for about one minute. Scrape the sides of the bowl periodically.

Step 4
Colorful icingYou can use your creativity and put a portion of icing in small bowls to make colors. Use food coloring and mix well.

Iced cup cakeAdd icing to your favorite homemade goodies.
