Things You'll Need:
- Holiday cards
- Double sided tape
- Construction Paper
- Glue stick
- Glitter
-
Step 1
If you've saved greeting cards from Christmases past, you're already one step ahead. Instead of placing them around the house this year, gather them all together for the Christmas tree project. If you don't have any holiday cards saved, you can buy colorful boxed Christmas cards from the dollar store, WalMart, or online.
-
Step 2
Pick an open space on a wall or door in your house. Start at the bottom and tape the cards to the wall or door, seven across. Work your way up the space, tapering the cards in a bit with each level by reducing the amount of cards across each time. Be sure to leave the cards open to give the Christmas Tree some depth.
-
Step 3
Cut out a star or angel shape with yellow or gold construction paper. Spread a glue stick across it and decorate with glitter. When you reach the top of the holiday card tree, tape on the star or angel topper.
-
Step 4
With brown construction paper, cut out a rectangle shape to place at the bottom of the Christmas tree as a trunk. If you have an artistic flare, you can decorate the tree trunk with a black marker to look more realistic.
-
Step 5
A great way to remember the family project for years to come is to stand in front of your holiday card Christmas tree with your family and take a picture of your accomplishment. Place the picture on your refrigerator or send it out to family!
