Make a Beaded Necklace

Are you interested in making a beaded necklace? This will help you make that necklace, and make it successfully!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A clasp
  • Beads of your choice
  • Wire or string
  1. Step 1

First, choose what beads you want to use, and in what pattern. It's very helpful to plan this in advance, rather than just working it out as you go along.

  2. Step 2

Next, decide how long you want your necklace to be. Add a few inches to that. If you want to make your necklace more secure, double the string or wire.

  3. Step 3

Tie the clasp on one end. Make sure to cut your excess string or wire short or tuck it under the first few beads for a neat look.

  4. Step 4

If you are simply using a repetitive beading pattern and know you have enough beads, you can just start beading until you reach the end. If you are putting something in the middle, or making a pattern with a central point, place all of your beads next to your string or wire until everything is measured out. This way, you can avoid reaching what you think is the center of your necklace, but it is really too far to the right or left. Once you're done with this, start beading the necklace.

  5. Step 5

Once you're done beading, tie the clasp on the other end of the necklace. Tuck the excess string or wire into the final few beads, or cut it short.

  6. Step 6

Wear your necklace at home for a little while before wearing it out to make sure that it is secure. You don't want it to break in public, where you can possibly lose lots of beads or cause a hazardous situation.
