Step 1
First, notice if you feel like you just get through the day without any sparks or something to look forward to. You have to believe that there is a different way to be and you are the only one that can make it happen.

Get into the mindset that today you are going to search for any little things that makes you smile on the inside. You may not be familiar with that feeling, but I guarantee that if you focus on looking for it, you will find it. You will feel uplifted.

Step 3
Look through magazines and cut out any pictures or words that touch you positively. Don't think about it or ask why you feel something for it. We want your heart to be leading this adventure not your brain. You can sort it out and think about why later. Use these things to learn what you are really interested in knowing more about.

Repeat the words "I deserve to be happy." Some people believe that they are not worthy of happiness and this can block them from receiving it when it comes their way. You make think of your own sentence to repeat over and over again. This is so simple and even if you don't believe it now, you will soon!

Step 5
Notice other people who look happy and hang around with them. I bet that their way of thinking will help you learn how you can be happy too. I believe that happy people are willing to help those around them feel uplifted.

Step 6
Make up stories in your head about how you would feel if you really were happy now. Imagine what you would be doing, who you would be with and where you would live. This starts the process of these things actually happening and it is really fun to do! You can make these kind of happy moments whenever you want to!

Step 7
Read books about other people who found their purpose. This is uplifting and encouraging. Many people will tell you that they found great happiness when they realized their purpose. Remember that doing your purpose is it's own reward. If you do something for another person with the expectation that they will return the favor, you may be disappointed and resentful if they don't.

Step 8
Be aware of all the things there are to be happy about right now in front of you. Be grateful for breathing, for air and sky and friends. And be grateful for your ability to think whatever thoughts you want to. If you have a thought that does not make you happy either find a way to put a positive spin on it or change the channel.
