Instructions

    • 1

Prepare your fruit by removing any peals, pits, seeds and stems. The more fruit you use, the tastier your smoothie will be, so get creative and combine fruits. For example, use a fresh banana and a cup of strawberries, or a pear, an apple and a cup of blueberries. Place your prepared fruit in the blender.

    • 2

Add one to two cups of ice if you want a chilled smoothie. Alternately, use frozen fruit and bypass the ice.

    • 3

Add one cup of dairy substitute for a runnier smoothie. Non-dairy milks like soy milk, almond milk and rice milk give the smoothie a creamy taste and cut down on the thickness of a fruit-only smoothie. You could also use a cup of fruit juice instead, adding another fruity flavor to the mix.

    • 4

Put the lid on your blender and blend the mixture for at least a minute, longer if the smoothie is still too chunky.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you want a sweeter smoothie, add two tablespoons of honey, syrup, agave nectar or a bit of non-dairy yogurt.
