When I was in elementary school and in high school, I was completely shy and a nervous wreck when standing in front of people even though I was very talented and love to talk. One day I broke my shyness and stage fright when I competed in a music competition through encouragement from a friend in my music class. I am still breaking out of stage fright and shyness and doing very well as a student in college who is in a theater class and performing as a vocal major. Here are some tips you can do if you are dealing with stage fright.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Step out of your boundaries. If you don't step out of your boundaries, you would never know what you can do and you also can regret what you didn't do because of fear.

  2. Step 2

Try not to focus on what people think. Most of the time when we are afraid or intimated to do a presentation, or sing or anything that has to do with standing in front of an audience, it really has to do with caring about what people think in a negative way or too concern about what people think about you. Your moments have nothing to do with them especially if they are going to affect you in a negative way. If it is not constructive criticism from your mentors who are trying to help you in a positive way, then forget about the ones who are trying to intimate you.

  3. Step 3

Don't be self conscious or self-centered. Your worst enemy is being too worried about how you look in front of people. Try to land. If you have to perform or do a speech, try to concentrate on your material that you have to perform so you can execute your speech or performance well.

  4. Step 4

Make it a habit to laugh at your mistakes instead of getting all bend out of shape about them. Laughing at yourself is very healthy habit to do because it keeps you from being afraid and it helps you to realize the fact that you are not perfect. So, keep moving forward.
