Few people today go 'unmarked' but there are occasions when we may not want our tribal bands or butterflies to show. Whether for a job interview or your wedding, fully covering a tattoo can be done with the same products you use every day.
While it can be a little difficult to achieve a natural look the first time, with practice you can cover any tattoo!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Full-coverage, nontransferable foundation
  • Concealer (one shade lighter)
  • Loose translucent powder
  • Foundation brush
  • Makeup sponge
  • Powder brush
  1. Step 1

Make sure the skin area is clean, dry and free of hair. This will ensure a smooth, natural finish.
You may also apply a light moisturizer to the area to avoid a drying effect.

  2. Step 2

Using a foundation brush, apply a thin coat of concealer in a downward motion.
Because concealer tends to dry darker, use a shade that is slightly lighter than your skin tone.
*Depending on the color of the tattoo, you may need to apply several thin layers of concealer.

  3. Step 3

Using a foundation sponge, apply a small amount of full coverage, non-transferable foundation to the area and blend using a patting motion. This will simulate the natural texture of your skin.
** Careful not to rub the area as this may smear the concealer.

  4. Step 4

Using a powder brush, finish off with a translucent loose powder.

Tips & Warnings
  • No makeup is 100% transfer proof. Keep in mind what clothing you will be wearing.

  • Never attempt to cover a tattoo that is not fully healed. Doing so may lead to damage to the tattoo itself or possible infection.
