How to Give Gift Cards as Christmas Gifts

In this sometimes hectic time of hurried and busy lives, it has become more difficult to buy, wrap and organize your Christmas gifts for family and friends. You can give gift cards for Christmas gifts as a unique and easy alternative.

Things You'll Need:

• A personalized gift card list
• Assorted gift cards
• Five dollar gifts
• Gift bags
• Tissue wrapping paper

1. 
   Make a list

   Ask all of your family members who exchange gifts tell you what store or restaurant they would like their gift card to be from. Write these suggestions down to create your personalized Christmas gift list. Children love this idea because they can go shopping and even put their own gift cards together and buy a larger gift of interest.

2. 
   Gather your gifts and gift cards

   Go to the different locations and purchase your gift cards. Also choose a $5.00 gift for each person on your list to go with the gift card. This keeps some originality and the excitement of gift buying in your Christmas shopping experience.

3. 
   Wrap gift

   Get ready to wrap your gifts and gift cards in the gift bags that you purchased. Choose a person on your Christmas gift list and decide what $5.00 gift you bought for them. Wrap this gift in a sheet of tissue paper.

4. 
   Gift in gift bag

   Gently place the tissue paper wrapped gift into a perfect sized gift bag for that gift.

5. 
   Gift card in gift bag

   Place the gift card that you bought for that person into the gift bag. Put the name of the person this gift is for on the outside of the gift bag.

6. 
   Give a gift

   Now you have your easy to purchase, easy to wrap personalized Christmas gift for that special person. Repeat steps 3 through 6 until you have finished with each gift. You are organized and everyone on your Christmas gift list will be happy and surprised.

Tips & Warnings

• This gift card idea teaches children about debit cards and not to use credit cards. A gift card is only worth as much money as it was purchased for.
