Pick a Skin Lotion
Pick a Skin Lotion

With so many skin lotions on the market it can be confusing what to pick. Here are step by step directions on how to pick a skin lotion.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The first step to pick a skin lotion is to determine your budget. Some skin lotions cost hundreds of dollars. A lotion at a department store will usually cost more than one at drug store. You can find a quality skin lotion at the drug store so decide if you want to pay extra for the fancy packaging and name brand.

  2. Step 2

Look at the different lotions in the store. Select one that has the words non-comedogenic on the label. When it says non-comedogenic it means it will not clog pores, so you are less likely to break out from it.

  3. Step 3

Many lotions serve a dual purpose by also containing a sunscreen. To save money select a skin lotion that contains a sunscreen of at least SPF15.

  4. Step 4

The skin on your body is thicker than the delicate skin on your face. For your body select a lotion that is thicker. Select a lighter skin lotion for you face.

  5. Step 5

Once you have found a lotion try it out. When you apply the lotion, it should feel soft and smooth. If it feels greasy or thick you will want to return it and try a different skin lotion.

  6. Step 6

Once you have found the perfect skin lotion, be sure to use it to keep your skin, supple and soft.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep your receipt so you can return a skin lotion if it does not work for you.
  • Avoid skin lotions for the face that have perfume.
