There are many different types of chili. Many people like to add a unique twist to their recipe. The two ingredients that make this recipe special happen to be the addition of beer and bacon. Although cooking beer in chili may seem unusual to some , you will be surprised by the rich and robust flavor of this recipe. This recipe is relatively easy to make and does not require any previous knowledge of chili cooking.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 Large onion
  • 2 Large green bell peppers
  • 28 oz can of tomato puree
  • 8 oz can of tomato sauce
  • 1 pound of stew meat or steak
  • 1 pound of hamburger
  • 1 can pinto beans
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 table spoons of chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons of cumin
  • 2 teaspoons of red pepper
  • 2 teaspoons of black pepper
  • 2 Jalapeno peppers
  • dash of salt
  1. Step 1

    Prepare crockpot and all of your ingredients . Peel and chop your onion , mince garlic , cut stew meat or steak into small bite sized pieces.

  2. Step 2

    In large frying combine the onions , pepper , garlic , hamburger and stew meat , cook over medium heat stirring often until all the meat in browned

  3. Step 3

    While your meat is cooking empty out your cans of kidney and pinto beans into a collender , rinse your kidney and pinto beans over the sink and allow to drain .

  4. Step 4

    Pour tomato puree into crockpot along with tomato sauce , pinto / kidney beans , beer , chili powder , cumin , red pepper , black pepper , and salt .

  5. Step 5

    Turn the crockpot on low , stir ingredients until completely mixed .

  6. Step 6

    By now the meat in your frying pan should be browned . Pour meat into a collender over the sink to remove any excess liquid and fat . Add the meat and vegetables into the crockpot . Stir until all ingredients are mixed.

  7. Step 7

    Fry half pound of bacon on a frying pan until it is crisp . After your bacon is cooked , crumble or chop it into little bite sized pieces and stir it into the crockpot. Add two chopped jalapenos .

  8. Step 8

    Cook your chili in the crockpot for 6-8 hours on low heat stirring occasionally .
