Things You'll Need:

  • Just knowing the person's astrological or zodiac sign that you're buying for
  1. Step 1

ARIES-Anything involving movment or mechanical functions, or a gift associated with one of their favorite sports will delight a Ram. This sign also loves action and thrills, so the best presents to give are those that charge up their senses. Think mega-fast, flaming red (if possible), or five-alarm spicy. If it's too fussy or time consuming to enjoy, pass on it. Other suggestions: money or gift certificates (Just make sure that if you go with the latter, that it's a store or business that person ACTUALLY uses), computer (desk or laptop), a fragrance that'll remind Aries of wide-open spaces (Jovan's White Musk, for example), books on their interests, new clothes, digital camera, stainless steel cookware, tools, or if you can afford it, diamonds, baby!

  2. Step 2

TAURUS-This is the best sign in the family to do the gift shopping (Christmas or otherwise), for they have a unique capacity to select just the right gift. And they tend to give the finest and most expensive ones, due to their appreciation of beautiful products.
Now if you're buying for them, however, bear in mind that Taurus is the most conservative zodiac sign, so what you want to do is avoid risks and resist trends-think physical comfort and highly developed senses above all else. And make sure they're top quality (They would much rather have one classic, lasting item than a zillion inexpensive trinkets). We're talking fragrant flowers, baby-soft sweaters, mouthwatering food here-a gourmet gift basket (or baskets), a classic movie, silver jewelry (understated sterling), stock in a solid blue-chip company or adding substantially to their bank account, a classic fragrance (like Chanel No. 5), aromatherapy bath products, plants and/or a gardening magazine, CDs and/or a CD player, chocolate, goumet food, concert tickets, or kitchen gadgets.

  3. Step 3

GEMINI-They LOVE the latest trends and styles; Gifts that will either teach them new ideas or adapt to their ever-shifting personal perspectives will make them happy. Try these: travel or travel-related items, cell phones (or any kind of phone, actually), gadgets, instant food, knowledge or information-related items. Other suggestions: books, theater tickets, gloves, a watch with interchangeable faces, stackable rings, or a necklace with mix-and-match pendants, earrings, puzzles, journal, address book, or calendar.

  4. Step 4

CANCER-The women of this sign will enjoy very feminine, "girly" things-a special scent of perfume or body oil, lingerie, or a garment made of fine fabric.
Men will like personalized gifts such as monogrammed handerkerchiefs, expensive-looking ties or set of cuff links, but bear in mind that Cancer men are VERY particular regarding clothing; They simply won't wear what they don't like.
Both men and women are very home-oriented. Get a gift that not only shows how much you care, but will make them feel cozy, snug and secure.
Fixing up or restoring a family keepsake, gourmet food, a family genealogy history, flowers, a locket, an afghan or quilt you made yourself, a flannel nightgown or pajamas, or a bath set that smells like dessert (cookies, honey buns, etc). Also: Antique jewelry, cookware, small appliances, cook books, candles, bath salts, preserves, cheeses, fruit baskets, or home-baked treats.

  5. Step 5

LEO-Personal taste in gifts will run toward richness-garments of the most expensive fabrics, sizable costume jewelry, rings with large stones, a plush set of monogrammed towels, and decorative items in yellows, oranges, and golds. And the bigger, the better!
Anything with a designer label, anything shimmery, a gift certificate to a fancy restaurant, anything monogrammed, a homemade video of their friends paying homage to them, luxury furnishings, top-quality, fashionable clothes,or exotic drinks will please them. Also: gold jewelry, gold-trimmed glasses and dishes, cologne, perfume, silk pillowcases, or crystal decanters.

  6. Step 6

VIRGO-They're not crazy about the whole idea of gifts; in fact, they would much rather avoid it (too much fuss!). They do enjoy receiving practical items such as gift certificates, herbal tea, puzzles, a journal, how-to books, an organizer, tools, kitchen gadgets, clocks, a briefcase, or manicure set. Any self-improvement gifts will please this sign. Health-related or anything pertaining to their pets or animals, period, will bring a smile. Think: an electric toothbrush, a pet toy, juicer, fitness gear, personal grooming products, or a wallet or handbag with LOTS of compartments.
Avoid gifts of a personal nature! This sign has their own very particular taste and are not inclined to use anything that is not exactly perfect for them.
