On January 20, 2009 we will take the final step in completing history in America. Tickets to the United States Presidential Inauguration will certainly be the hottest commodity on the block. If you are one of the lucky few and can connect your seven degrees of separation, you MAY be able to score a ticket.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Call or write the office of your local Representative/Congressman. Members of the House of Representatives will be given approximately 25 tickets to the Presidential Inauguration. It is up to each office to determine how those tickets will be dispersed amongst their office and constituencies. Due to the historical nature of this year's inauguration, it may be next to impossible to score.

  2. Step 2

Contact your local Senator's office. They will have access to tickets to the inauguration as well. Again, given the magnitude of the event they may have already promised tickets to family members and supporters.

  3. Step 3

A long shot would be to contact the office of the President Elect. They will also have a certain amount of tickets that will be dispersed amongst friends, family and supporters.

  4. Step 4

Obviously, acquiring tickets to the actual inauguration will be next to impossible. If you are able consider yourself amongst the a VERY SMALL segment of lucky individuals. However, there are several other events such as the Inauguration Ball and other celebrations that will be going on in DC during the week. Go to those events and have just as much fun basking in history.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not stalk or harrass your Representative or Senator about tickets. This event is monumental tickets are in HIGH DEMAND.
  • If you plan to be in the area during the inauguration, be aware of heightened security as well as large crowds.
  • Reserve flight and hotel now.
  • Make the trip to DC a road trip for the family.
  • Stay with friends or family if at all possible
  • Make reservations now, airline and hotel prices have already increased as the result of the demand.
