How to Make Lemon Ginger Soother

This cold weather beverage is packed with vitamin C and will comfort you from the inside out. Ginger's spiced heat soothes the throat while the tart lemon is balanced with just enough sweetness from the sugar and honey. Makes 4 servings.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Large Pot filled with 5 cups filtered water
  • 2/3 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4 lemons)
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2-inch piece of ginger
  • 8 whole green cardomom pods
  1. Step 1

    Peel, slice and smash the fresh ginger and crush the cardamom pods.

  2. Step 2

    Bring filtered water to a rolling boil, add all ingredients and reduce heat. Simmer for 25 to 30 minutes.

  3. Step 3

    Strain through a fine sieve and portion into 4 mugs. Add honey to taste and garnish with lemon slice.
