    How about those teeth?

The dentist office isn't the most fun place to go for anyone, but for some it is much tougher than others. There are some who find the dentist office to be a real phobia. There are a few things you can do to help this, some of them hours before the appointment and some for months before the appointment.

  2. Step 2

Nervous on the day of the dental appointment? Take a nice relaxing bath before heading to the appointment and let yourself think about something that soothes your mind. Getting in the right frame of mind is very important.

  3. Step 3

For many months before your dentist appointment it is very important that you do everything you can to take good care of your teeth. By brushing your teeth at least twice daily and flossing your teeth daily you will make your dental appointments less scary.

  4. Step 4

Find a dentist that you are completely comfortable with. A dentist is someone that really needs to have a good personality and make a person feel at ease, so you need to look for that. Take your time before settling on the right dentist for you and your family.

  5. Step 5

No matter when your dentist appointment is, it is always a good idea to brush and floss your teeth very thoroughly before going to the appointment. Since they are going to be working on your teeth it is vital that your teeth be in the best shape possible when you get to the office.

Tips & Warnings
  • Ask your dentist questions when at the office as to what you can do to help your dental hygiene.
  • Don't let your fears get the best of you. Keep your emotions in check.

on 11/14/2008 Yes: brush and floss, brush and floss. That way your cleanings every six months will be a non-event and you won't have to go back until the next cleaning.
