The toe heel toe kick step in tap dancing will afford the dancer a good cardiovascular workout because there is a lot of hopping involved. A toe jab occurs when the dancer hits the floor with the very tip of her toe. Generally a toe jab is done to the back. A heel dig is when you strike the floor with the heel of your tap shoe.
