1
Roll the plastic canvas into a cone. Cut overlapping parts of the canvas. In order to do this you will need to mark the area that is overlapping and then cut it.

2
Cut the wool felt or fleece material. Use the plastic canvas as an outline. Place the material over the plastic and begin cutting. Leave two extra inches at the edge of the material where the hat band will go. Then glue the material to the plastic.

Sew the cone. You will sew the edges together with thread to make it stay as a cone. Make sure the thread is the same color as the material. Then sew on the strap for the chin with the extra material on the edges. The strap can be about 2-feet long

Cover seam with mesh fabric. Cut up to 5-feet of the mesh fabric. Glue it onto the seam of the hat beginning from the bottom of the hat to the top. Leave extra fabric to hang down. Cut extra material in thin lines leaving it hanging. The mesh fabric should be about 6-inches thick so there will be extra material from the seam. Cut another strip of mesh fabric about 3-feet long and 6-inches thick to wrap around the band of the hat. Glue the mesh fabric on.
