How to Treat Itching Skin With Natural Remedies

      Fill a bathtub with warm water, then add 4 tsp. of peppermint oil to the bathwater. Soak in the bath for at least 20 minutes. This remedy will work for mild-to-severe itchy skin.

      Add 3 tbsp. of honey and 3 tbsp. of cinnamon powder to a bowl. Mix these two ingredients together until they make a paste. Apply this paste to any areas of your skin that are itching and rub it in for several minutes. This mixture will soothe and relieve any itching. Wash off the paste after the itching has completely subsided.

      Add 2 cups of dry oatmeal to a bathtub filled with warm water. Use your hand to mix the oatmeal and water. Soak in the tub for 20 minutes to relieve itching and dry skin.

      Mix 3 tbsp. of apple-cider vinegar and 4 oz. of warm water. Moisten a washcloth with this solution and gently wash the itchy area to obtain instant relief. Keep washing the area until the itching has completely subsided. You may store this mixture in the refrigerator for later use.

      Add 4 tbsp. of baking soda to 3 oz. of water and stir until the mixture is a paste. Gently rub the paste onto the areas of your skin that are affected to help eliminate any burning, itching or dryness.

  • After you shower, apply an oil-free moisturizer to your skin to keep it from becoming too dry. If your itching skin does not get better after several days, and spreads instead, visit your doctor immediately.

  • Do not scratch your itching skin, as this can cause the skin to split open and easily become infected.
