Decide on the size. Memorial cards are usually the size of a business card, but in recent years, larger sizes have become popular. Some are cards that fold in half to business-card size, and others are about the size of a postcard. While smaller cards are easier to carry around, you can't fit as much information on them.

Choose a picture. Make sure it's a flattering picture of the deceased. Since the photo is a reminder of the deceased's life, use a picture from when he was healthy and happy.

Find the right words. The memorial card usually features a bible verse or poem that was a favorite of the deceased. Next to the picture, the phrase "In Loving Memory of" precedes the full name of the deceased, along with her birthdate and date of death.

Make sure everything fits. Arrange the photo and the poem or scripture and make sure they all fit within the card size you have chosen. If they don't, try using a smaller font or reducing the size of the picture. Don't go too small on the font, though, since the words mean nothing if nobody can read them.
