Use memory cards (SD, mini SD, memory stick) as film. Digital cameras have a small amount, if any at all, of internal memory for holding photographs. Inserting memory cards and using them for storage spaces lets you store hundreds of pictures. The amount of pictures you can hold per card depends on the quality of the pictures you take; higher-quality shots use more space.

Use them in your MP3 player. As with digital cameras, adding a memory card increases storage space on your expandable MP3 player. You can store more music in addition to the songs that may already be stored into the MP3 player itself. You can add and erase songs from the card as many times as you like.

Transport files from one computer to another or simply back up a copy of vital information with a USB storage drive--also known as a jump drive. These USB storage devices allow you to copy data from your computer and store it on the drive. You can take your files with you to work, to school or just to a friend's house. You can use external hard drives to transport a larger quantity of files than with jump drives.
