If your significant other enjoys going to music stores and shopping for instruments, you can call ahead and arrange for a musician to be in the store. Play his favorite sing while you propose, or you can learn to play it yourself! No matter what your significant other's favorite activity is, there is a way to parlay it into a proposal.

2. Think about how you and your significant other first met. Think about planning a romantic date there for a proposal. Whether you met at work, at school or in the mall, you can surprise your significant other with a trip to this location. Have candles or a romantic dinner set up. Propose with passion and sincerity.

3. Write down any charities or causes that are important to your significant other. If your significant other loves an animal charity, find out if you can make a large donation to it. Get pictures of the animals walking around wearing a big sign that asks her to marry you. If your significant other volunteers with children, ask the children to hold up signs containing one letter of each word of the proposal.

4. Get specific on more details of the actual proposal. Once you've determined the when, where and who, it's time to plan the actual proposal. Think about how you want the proposal to go. Write down points of all you want to say to her during the proposal. Having a mental map can save the night.

5. Call the location you decide to propose in. See if there are any special accommodations that can be made for the occasion. Think about how you want it to happen. Be prepared prior to calling with any particular favors or requests you will need. If you are specific and thorough in your explanation, you'll be more likely to get exactly what you want.

6. Make a list of any supplies you need. Bring flowers, champagne and other gifts. Bring anything you need to complete your vision of the perfect proposal.

7. Allow for spontaneity. Check the details thrice, then let them go. Go with the flow. Live in the moment. Speak from your heart when making the actual proposal.
