The Correct Way to Use a Philips Epilator

If you hate shaving and are tired of the mess waxing your legs leaves, you may want to try a Philips epilator. Epilators are used to remove leg and underarm hair. They are not recommended for the bikini line or facial hair. They are painful, especially the first time you use one, but if have a decent tolerance for pain you should be able to handle using an epilator. Epilators remove hair sooner then waxing can. The epilator removes hairs as short as .5mm. Epilators can keep your legs hair free for 3 weeks, and the hair that does grow back will be thinner and less noticeable. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Wash and dry your legs. You must have dry, lotion free legs when using an epilator. If you have grease or lotion on your legs this can ruin your Philips epilator.

    • 2

Turn your epilator on to the desired speed. The slow speed is designed for thinner hairs and those in hard to reach areas. The fast speed is for thicker hairs and covering large areas, such as your legs, quickly.

    • 3

Place the epilator at a 90-degree angle to your leg. Slowly move the epilator in the direction of your hair growth. If this is your first time allow an average of 10 minutes per leg, as you will have to go over each section several times to remove all of the hairs. After your first use you can do both legs in a 10-minute time span.

    • 4

Clean the Philips epilator by unplugging it and removing it's head. The epilator comes with a cleaning brush to remove the hairs.

    • 5

Repeat in 1 week. As you become more accustomed to the epilator you can use it less often and with less pain.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not go tanning after using the epilator. Do not use with shaving gel. If your skin becomes irritated apply an alcohol free cream to reduce the pain. If your skin is irritated for 3 days after use call your doctor. The ideal length of your hairs should be 3 to 4mm, but epilation can be done with hairs as short as .5mm.

  • Do not use in the shower.
