Step 1
Shop at the area's many jewelry stores. Plata Yoro (125 S. Kalamazoo Mall) and Thomas W. Turner Jewelry (7193 Hawthorn Valley Ave.) are two of the cities most popular jewelry stores. Look in the Kalamazoo Yellow Pages to find additional jewelry stores.
-
Step 2
Visit the International Gem & Jewelry Show when it comes through Kalamazoo. The show is in Kalamazoo at least once per year and offers jewelry at both wholesale and retail price. You can find almost anything you're looking for, including beads and gems to make your own unique jewelry.
-
Step 3
Attend the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts for their annual KIA Art Fair. The KIA Art Fair usually takes place in early June and attracts over 60,000 people. There are 200 hundred artists from across the country and quite a few sell jewelry. If you're looking to sell your jewelry, you can also consider setting up a booth.
-
Step 4
Go to the Kalamazoo Banks Street Farmer's Market (1200 Banks Street). The Farmer's Market runs from May to October on Saturdays from 7:00am to 6:00pm and also from June to September on Tuesdays and Thursdays. While most people expect to find fruits and vegetables at the market, there are vendors who offer homemade jewelry at low prices.
-
Step 5
Boot up your computer and go to Craig's List. Search for Kalamazoo jewelry and watch all the results pop up. There are a lot of big ticket items like diamond engagement rings, but you can often find jewelry at a great price. Just be sure to do your research before purchasing anything from Craig's List. You can also list your jewelry for sale on Craig's List.
