Things You'll Need:

  • Iron on rhinestone appliques Shirt Iron Ironing board
  1. Step 1

Wash the shirt you will be adding the applique to. Press if needed to make sure there are no wrinkles where the applique will be ironed on. Put the shirt rightside up on the ironing board.

  2. Step 2

Place the applique on the shirt until you like how it looks. If necessary, make a small mark with a pen on the shirt so you can remember where to iron on the applique.

  3. Step 3

Peel the white sticky backing off of the applique. Position the applique onto the shirt sticky side down. Be sure to position it over the markings you made.

  4. Step 4

Heat the iron to the cotton setting. Turn off the steam. Place a clean towel or cloth over the top of the applique. Press the heated iron over the towel or cloth on top of the applique and press firmly for approximately 1 minute. Pick up the iron to move to another area of the applique and press down firmly again for approximately 1 minute. Continue picking up the iron and moving to another area, pressing firmly each time. Do not move the iron around in circles as this could cause the applique to not stick properly. Do not use steam. Set the iron aside.

  5. Step 5

Remove the towel or cloth from on top of the applique. Allow the applique to cool down for about 10 minutes. Once cool, gently check the edges and corners of the applique to see if they have bonded to the fabric. If any part of the applique is not adhering well, place the towel or cloth over the top and apply firm pressure with the iron holding it in place for about 1 minute. Remove the towel, allow the applique to cool down again and then check the edges.
