Things You'll Need:
- 2 pt. fresh strawberries
- 4 eggs,separted
- 5/8 c. sugar
- 2 c. half and half
- 1 c. milk
- 3/4 c. orange juice
- 1/2 tsp. grated orange peel
- red food coloring
- 1 c. heavy cream, whipped

Step 1
To make Christmas Eve Punch first puree the strawberries in a blender. Beat the egg yolk and 1/2 cup sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.

Blend in the half and half, milk, orange juice, orange peel and pureed strawberries and add enough food coloring for desired tint.

Step 3
Beat the eggs whites until soft peaks form. Add remaining sugar gradually and beat until stiff peaks form. Reserve several tablespoons meringue and whipped cream.

Step 4
Blend remaining meringue and whipped cream into the strawberry mixture and pour into a 4-quart punch bowl.

Step 5
Spoon reserve meringue and whipped cream on top and swirl gently with a flat knife or spatula. Serves 24 cups
