History has been made here in the United States of America. Tuesday, November 4, 2008 will be forever remembered. Mr. Barack Obama became the 44th President-elect of America and the first African American to be elected to this position. So, how do we support him as our leader? Read on...

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Understanding
  • Willingness to work together
  • Strong desire for change and much hard work
  1. Step 1

First, remember that President-elect Obama is a human being, a very intelligent man with a super supportive wife, Michelle Obama, and two loving daughters, . He is a very caring man who has taken on the huge task of sacrificing himself and his family to better our country. Respect him as you would any other person in this position.

  2. Step 2

Mr. Obama is a very capable man with an impressive educational background, an accomplished attorney, and the Junior U.S. Senator from Illinois. Give him a chance without prejudice and offer your assistance to make this country a better place to live.

  3. Step 3

He has motivated this country and countries around the world to a new sense of hope as has not been seen for a number of years. People are willing to trust him to bring about change for a better America. Keep hope alive with a positive attitude. Encourage an atmosphere of unity and of a common goal.

  4. Step 4

Don't let the excitement and hope of a better America become a "puff of smoke." Remember the economic and military issues that we now face did not occur over night. Understand that Mr. Obama is not a magician and neither are we. It will take time and much patience as we work toward change for the betterment of this nation. He cannot succeed without our support.

  5. Step 5

Finally, Pray! Pray! Pray! Pray for President-elect Obama, his family, and those who will be working with him in the Congress. Also, pray for our country. We don't have the answers but they will be revealed if we seek God in prayer for guidance and direction.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be wise enough to understand that a person's ability is not determined by the color of his/her skin.
  • Remember we will never fully understand another person until we walk in his/her shoes.
  • Be patient and positive.
  • Don't allow people to bring negative and unproductive ideas to you.
  • Don't let anyone cause you to not be proud of your country.
  • Don't move; stay here and let's fight the good fight to bring about change and a better life for all Americans.

on 1/5/2009 It's important that people know that one man, no matter who he is, does not bring about change. Real change come from the bottom up. Each of us has to BE the change we desire. Good article!

on 1/5/2009 I would hope that this president gets more support than the last one. It is time for us, the American people to rise, support, and uplift Obama.

on 1/5/2009 Good article. Race or skin color should not matter, it is who he is and what he does that matters. Also expecting one man to fix all the problems that we now face, which were many years in the making, isn't very likely. He's a man, not a miracle worker. That being said, I expect a better future for our country because of the change in leadership, and support President Obama 100%.

on 1/5/2009 Just because of who he is shouldn't matter as much as what he does. The American people need RESULTS not just nice talk. The American people have worked hard ALONE to survive during this tough economy and to be honest some of us are BROKEN by nice words with no action by the people that are in Obama's newly elected cabinet. I am so tired of nice words I could peuk. WE DESERVE ACTION from the U.S. Senate and Cabinet! The article is wonderful (5 stars) but it should be pointed out we shouldn't give him a break just because of his race, we all should demand a higher standard. The day after the swearing in the American people want and deserve RESULTS not having to hold someone's hand just because of his race or what his kids are wearing to their first day at school! American's are not that STUPID to let Obama get away with nice talk and no action. He is too smart for that and to do that woul
