Blog Surf to Increase Traffic to Your Website or Blog

We are all looking for new and fun ways to drive traffic to our own websites and blogs. Have you tried blog surfing? Follow these easy steps and see results within just a few days!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Visit a blog that you normally read that is related to what you write on yours. If you do not normally read other blogs, enter a keyword you use + the word blog into google search. See the image for an example.

  2. Step 2

On that blog, find a post that may interest you that has at least 3 or 4 comments attached to it.

  3. Step 3

Read or skim the article so you have an idea of what it's about.

  4. Step 4

At the bottom, submit your own informative or helpful comment. It is very important that you also include the web address of your own blog in the required field.

  5. Step 5

From there, click on the name of another commenter to visit their blog. If their name takes you to a non-blog website, simply click your browser's back button and try a different name.

  6. Step 6

After entering a new blog, repeat steps 2 thru 5 as often as you'd like. I recommend at least surfing on 10 blogs each day to gain maximum exposure.

Tips & Warnings
  • Blog surfing works because as you leave comments, you are also leaving a link to your own blog behind as well.
  • The better your comments are, the more likely someone will click on your name and visit your blog.
  • If you really enjoyed a particular article or blog, please feel free to subscribe to it. Come back later and keep on commenting! Don't feel like you have to hit and run.
  • Instead of just using your name in the "Name" Box, you can be creative and enter something that stands out a little. For example, if your name is "Pat", you can instead enter "Patty Cakes". Be creative, but keep it short, simple and sweet.
  • Please be sure to know about the articles you are commenting on. If you leave a comment that has very little to do with the content of that particular post, it will be obvious that you didn't read it, and it becomes very unlikely that someone will be interested in you and click on your name to visit your blog.
  • Please do not leave SPAM-like comments. They are very annoying and is a waste of everybody's time, including yours. An example would be saying: "Please visit my blog at http://www.blogname.com." Now, if you have an article on your blog that fully relates to the subject, feel free to insert the url of your website in your comment as long as you explain what it is and why it relates to the post you are commenting on. Again, you are a guest on their blog, so please treat your host with respect.
