Keep the Peace at Thanksgiving
Keep the Peace at Thanksgiving

Having Thanksgiving with your family can sometimes be stressful, especially if the extended family is coming. Here are some ways to keep the peace at Thanksgiving.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Avoid politics.
Even though the presidential elections are a current topic right now, I would suggest avoiding talking about politics. The last thing you want is to get in a fight with someone in your family over policies, presidents, etc. It could cause a great family Thanksgiving to go from good to bad.

  2. Step 2

    Food.
Make sure there is plenty of food. Food can also keep the peace, lack of it could cause a riot. And have family members fighting over turkey and yams. If you are hosting it at your house make sure you know how much too cook for everyone. It is a good idea to have more than less for Thanksgiving.

  3. Step 3

    Amount of guests.
It is also a good idea to know how many people are coming. If you are cooking for 10 people and they bring 5 or 6 guests, that could be a very bad thing. So make sure you find out who is coming and if there will be additional guests.

  4. Step 4

    Be nice.
Even if there is someone in your family that you really just don't get along with. Be nice. Don't spoil the whole Thanksgiving for everyone with a heated argument. Even if it is hard, I'm sure you can put on a smile for at least one day.

  5. Step 5
