Go Green when Wrapping Christmas Presents
Go Green when Wrapping Christmas Presents

We destroy millions of trees every year just to make the paper we wrap our Christmas presents with. Save the trees and try a few of these suggestions when wrapping your presents this year. Your planet will thank you.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

If you have to purchase wrapping paper, look for eco-friendly types that are made with hemp fibers. These types of papers are easily recycled. Also, avoid shiny metallic papers because this type of material is extremely difficult to recycle.

  2. Step 2

Reuse wrapping paper. Remember grandma folding up the paper that came off the presents. Well, she had the right idea. Try to use as little tape as possible so that the paper you use this year can be used again next year.

  3. Step 3

Use alternatives for wrapping paper. The comics from the Sunday paper, scraps of material, tablecloths (that would also be considered part of the gift), all make great wrapping paper and using or re-using these items make a wonderful gift to our planet.

on 11/4/2008 Growing up, we always used the comics for wrapping paper. I think newspaper as gift wrap is way more interesting.
