How to Draw a Floral Border

Perfect for cards, gift tags, journaling or scrap booking, this pretty floral border is quick and easy!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• paper
• drawing pencil (2b is great)
• colored pencils

1. 

   Draw a faint line to guide you as the border is drawn.

2. 

   Begin filling the line with squiggles and scribbles in flower, leaf, and curling vine shapes. Have fun and be creative with the shapes you draw!

3. 

   Finish your pencil drawing, adding some vines curling around the edges and a few random dots.

4. 

   Add color with your colored pencils. Don’t worry about filling in the flowers and leaves precisely. Add a dash of yellow to the center of the flowers and some scattered pollen-specks. Trace loosely over the vines.

5. 

   Once you’ve gone over the drawing with you basic colors, go over parts of it again with deeper shades of the same colors to add depth and vibrancy to your drawing.

• Try doing the same drawing with a pen, colored with watercolors, for a different look!
