Things You'll Need:
- small flat head screw driver
- q-tip
- rubbing alchohol
-
Step 1
First you are going to have to take the cover off the bottom. When you look at the bottom of your ball mouse you will see the ball in the center and around a cover that holds the ball in, twist the cover counter-clockwise to take it off and expose the ball.
-
Step 2
Take the ball out and set it aside. you will see three wheels, 2 long skinny ones and 1 small one. The 2 long ones control the side to side and up and down movements of your cursor and the small one keeps tension on the ball against the other two.
-
Step 3
When you look at the wheels you will most likely see a film covering them in the center and wrapping all the way around the wheel. Take your small flat head screw driver and gently scrape this film off of the wheel.
-
Step 4
Once you scrape the film off turn the mouse right side up and blow into the hole where the wheels are located to remove the film and dirt from inside the mouse.
-
Step 5
Next take your q-tip and dip it in the rubbing alcohol. Take the swab and use it to clean each wheel individually all the way around. Once they are clean let the wheels dry for a couple of minutes.
-
Step 6
Now take the ball that you removed and clean it with the alcohol swab. Now let the ball dry for a couple of minutes. Then put the ball back into the mouse, and put the cover back on. Now you have a clean mouse and your cursor shouldn't skip around anymore!
