save energy in your kitchen.

Try these green tips to save energy in your kitchen!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Use the correct size pots for your burners. Putting a 6" pot on an 8" burner will waste 40% of the heat produced.

  2. Step 2

Use a pressure cooker. These not only save time, but it will really cut down on your energy usage. Compared to a conventional oven, a pressure cooker can reduce energy expenditures up to 70%.

  3. Step 3

Use a toaster oven for small items. Instead of heating up the big oven, cook small items like potatoes or personal pizzas in a toaster oven. It uses less energy, and heats up faster.

  4. Step 4

Make sure to keep the drip pans under the stove burners clean. These speed up the cooking process by reflecting heat back up to the pan. But they won't work as well if they're dirty!
