Omega-3 essential fatty acids, play important role in human health. Essential fatty acids deficiency can cause numbers of illness in human. There are many sources of omega-3 essential fatty acids in foods.

    Flax seeds contain significant amount of omega-3 essential fatty acids and lignans. Flax seeds also contain many vitamins and minerals. You can sprinkle flax seeds to salad, cereal or other foods. Flax seeds give nutty flavor to foods. You can use ground flax seeds as well to mix it with cereal, smoothie, juices or other beverages. Cold pressed flaxseed oil also broadly use for salad dressing, mix it with cottage cheese or yogurt.

    Sunflower seeds, rich in omega-3 essential fatty acids, vitamin E and other vitamins and minerals. People eat only the kernels of sunflower seeds and remove the hulls. You can roast those seeds and seasoned them with salt. You can add sunflower seeds on baked breads as well.

  3. Step 3

    Walnut also a healthy snack to eat, rich in omega-3 fatty acids, it can help to lower your cholesterol as well. Walnuts are sold with the shells or just the nuts without the shells. You can eat walnut raw or roasted. Walnuts are great for dessert mixed or ice cream topping as well.

  4. Step 4

    Other sources of omega-3 essential fatty acids oil are salmon, kale, canola oil and soy bean oil.
