    Instructions

If your neighbor does impolite gestures or yells comments at you, do not yell or gesture back. Turn your back to them or better yet, turn your back, bend over and slap your butt.

      • 2

If they show up at your door, don't answer it. Chances are they want to complain or fight and you will be drawn into the drama.

If they continue to pound on your door and won't leave, call the police. If they know you will call the police every time they come to your door, they will stop.

        New Trees

If your neighbor is constantly looking into your yard or peering out their window at you, plant a tree. Not only will you help the environment, the neighbor will have to look at something else.

        Video Camera

If you neighbor is vandalizing your property, it is hard to prove unless you catch them in the act. Put up lights that come on automatically and signs that say, "This property is protected by video surveillance." The sign should be enough, but if you feel threatened, then do put up a camera. It would help the police and could lead to the neighbors arrest.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Document every incident and get a restraining order.

I have one neighbor that would watch everything I did and call me multiple times a day! Now, she won't speak to me over something someone else said to her... I couldn't be happier! Great article! 5*

Great tips. It's best to respectfully stay away from your neighbor, rather than fighting with them.

Yikes! I hope you're not writing from direct experience! I have a psycho-b living behind me. We've had a couple of run-ins that were none to pleasant (a very angry person.) Luckily she keeps to herself now. Thanks for your tips!
