To clean rust from your bathtub, this simple concoction will erase the spots.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Use white vinegar sparingly on a soft cloth.

  2. Step 2

Wipe in a circular direction. This will take the spots away and brighten the finish on your tub.

  3. Step 3

If the stains are stubborn, you can take lighter fluid on a soft cloth and rub in a circular direction as well.

Tips & Warnings
  • Another thing I heard that works is Tang. Sprinkle Tang in the tub and fill with a layer of water (just enough to cover the bottom). Let it sit for an hour. Take a sponge and wipe down all rusted areas. Rinse. Citric acid is supposed to oxidize the rust.
  • Always clean in a well ventilated area, so you are not breathing in all of the fumes. If you are using the lighter fluid, remember that it is flammable.
