Things You'll Need:
- Sidekick phone
- Paper clip
-
Step 1
First, try a soft reset. Press the '@' button next to the space bar, the '0' button, and the '1' button all together. This will shut your device down and restart it.
If that does not correct things, move on to Step 2. -
Step 2
Try a hard reset. Hold the power button for about 3 seconds. This will shut your sidekick off.
-
Step 3
Wait maybe about 15-30 seconds.
-
Step 4
Press the power button to turn the phone back on.
This should fix most problems, if not, try step 5. -
Step 5
Take a paper clip and bend it so that one of the prongs is pointed out. Your gonna use this to press a small button.
-
Step 6
With one hand, hold the screen so that it's half way opened and half way closed.
On the silver part, you will see a small, tiny hole. There is a button in there. -
Step 7
Use the paper clip to press the button. This will restart your device.
Now, relax; it's gonna look like you've turned your phone on for the first time. Don't panic, things are not as it seems.
See the next step. -
Step 8
When you get the proper signal (the G) go to your web browser and connect to any website. When you do this, all your stuff will come back, except for text messages. Give things about 5-15 minuets, depending on your signal strength.
-
Step 9
That's it. If this does not fix the problem, you're going to have to call customer service. Don't worry, they will take good care of you. And if you speak with the supervisor, and complement them, they may give you free extra minuets.
