This is a great side dish for any meal and compliments Thanksgiving dinner.
Sweet savory and delicious.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 lb carrots
  • 3/4 cup of water
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp grated orange peel
  • 1 orange
  • 2 tbsp of margarine or butter
  • 2 or 3 tbsp of favorite syrup or honey even marmalade or brown sugar
  1. Step 1
     

    Wash and peel carrots

  2. Step 2
     

    Now cut into slices or lengthwise into strips

  3. Step 3
     

    Bring the water and salt to a boil

  4. Step 4
     

    Add carrots and cover pan

  5. Step 5
     

    Cook on medium to low heat for 10 - 20 minutes till tender

  6. Step 6
     

    Drain the cxarrots and return to the pan

  7. Step 7
     

    Peel your orange and cut into bite size pieces and add to carrots

  8. Step 8
     

    Add the orange zest

  9. Step 9
     

    And the margarine and syrup

  10. Step 10
     

    Cook on low until the margarine is melted and the oranges are heated through
