The purpose of this article is to teach you how to properly memorize a bible verse. The bible is important to many people but when it comes to understanding the verses it can became difficult. If you start with one verse at a time then you can begin appreciating each verse of the bible and applying each verse to everyday life.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • King James Bible
  • Pen and paper
  • 1 hour of time
  1. Step 1

Turn your King James Bible to the verse you would like to remember. (We will use John 11:35 as an example.) Please make sure your bible is on John 11:35 before we move to the next step. We want to make sure we learn the proper steps to memorize a bible verse.

  2. Step 2

Now that we are on John 11:35, we will get our pen and paper out and write down that verse. We want to also include on the paper where the verse is found so we will write down John 11:35 Jesus wept, after that close your bible.

  3. Step 3

We will then take the paper and start reading out loud where the verse is found and what the verse say. It is important to try to read the verse out loud at least 20 times it will help you have appreciation for each word. If we do this we will easily memorize a bible verse.

  4. Step 4

Next what you want to do is take the paper and turn it flat down so the words are not showing anymore, then you will try saying from memory what you read. For instance, you will say from memory John 11:35 says Jesus wept. If you stumble over some words keep practicing till you know every word by heart. If you need to look at the paper you can until you are able to memorize every verse.

  5. Step 5

We want to then apply the bible verse that we have memorized to everyday life. If we have a problem that we can’t handle then we will remember that bible verse we learned and apply it in our lives. We want to think to ourselves Jesus wept, so we know there will be times we want to cry.

  6. Step 6

We want to continue learning a new bible verse each week that will help us to understand the bible more and will improve our relationship with God. Learning each bible verse helps us to be able to fight against different situations in our lives so that's why its so important to memorize each verse.

Tips & Warnings
