Things You'll Need:
- Water bottle
- Wide tooth comb
- Leave-in-conditioner
- Frizz control serum
- Magnetic rollers
- Hair clips/roller covers
- Hair net
-
Step 1
First, ditch all of the hair gels and setting lotions. These products can prevent you from having soft curls. If you roll your hair onto the roller properly you will have a curl that will last for at least a week.
-
Step 2
Second, start with clean freshly washed hair that has been deep conditioned and sprayed with a leave in conditioner.
If you have especially unruly hair you may want to use a hair serum like Fantasia IC for frizz control. -
Step 3
Now take a deep breath, put the TV or radio on and stretch out your arms. Using a wide tooth comb section your hair into 4 quarters and use a clip to secure it. This will help you to neatly roll your hair without getting it tangled. Taking portions of your hair, no wider then the roller that you are using, section smaller parts without using a comb to make your sections (this helps the curls to seperate without showing a clean part in between).
-
Step 4
Starting with the roller laying on the top of the gathered hair, roll in a upward direction with the ends smoothed over (like a flip). Roll the hair all the way up to the scalp and clamp on a roller cover or secure with a metal clip on each side. I prefer the roller covers.
Be sure that each section of the hair is wet before setting. Making sure that you have a spray bottle handy to assit you with this. Once you are done secure all of the rollers with a hair net and allow your hair to dry completely before removing the rollers. I use a hooded dryer for about 45mins to an hour.
After your hair is completely dry add a moisturizer and style as desired.
At night I moisturize and use a satin bonnet to make my curls last throughout the week.
