Step 1
Determine what type of weather it is outside. This goes without saying, I know, but it is the first step.
-
Step 2
In the spring months, if it is a humid climate, you will want to dress your infant as you would in the summer months. Humidity can be sticky, muggy and very uncomfortable. The least amount of clothes in that type of atmosphere, the more comfortable for your child.
-
Step 3
For the summer months, dress baby very lightly. One layer of clothing is suggested for these months. I find babies are more comfortable in one piece clothing. Although those two piece outfits are adorable. One piece jumpsuits are ideal for the summer months and your baby is sure to be cute in matching socks or sandals. The socks will definitely generate heat and some parents may opt not to use them-this is fine. Some parents however, do not like to dress their infants in shoes so in this case socks are fine.
-
Step 4
Sunny days require a hat for your little one. With the harsh sun rays you will need to dress your little bundle in a hat with a wide brim. A little sun is good for your child due to the vitamin d to be had, but too much sun is more harmful for their young skin than it is for ours.
-
Step 5
The cooler fall months call for an extra layer of clothing. Adding a onesie t-shirt to your baby's outfit is just enough to keep the cool breeze at bay. If the breeze has a cold chill to it, you may need to add a sweater cap for his/her head-especially for those adorable, nearly bald babies.
-
Step 6
For the winter time a full on layered outfit including hat and coat are in order. You should most likely make sure you infant wears a t-shirt everyday.
