To encourage movement, coordination and skills of all sorts, buy a ball of any kind. You really can never have too many.

To improve hand-eye coordination and specific skills, buy a baseball tee, tennis racket or air hockey table.

To increase balance, buy a pogo stick, stilts, swing or balance disk.

To enhance fitness and balance, buy a scooter, bike or wave board.

To build strength, buy a rope swing, jungle gym or zip line set.

To sharpen swimming skills, buy swim fins, dive toys, snorkel/mask or water polo set.

To persuade your child to try something new, buy a gym membership, rock climbing lessons or a yoga pass. Depending on your child's personality, this might be best given if a friend or sibling will be signing up too.

To encourage family fitness time, buy a tagalong bike, soccer net or basketball goal.
