Acne is a massive problem for teenagers and adults alike worldwide. Unfortunately the consequences of untreated acne are permament facial scarring which can lead to low self esteem. Fortunately there are a range of helpful tips in this article which will help you control your acne and get rid of it for good.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Recognise the fact that you have acne. It is important that you do not get stressed out as stress aggravates the problem. So try to relax and follow the steps below for spot-free skin the cheap way.

  2. Step 2

First thing in the morning, wash you face with water using a mild soap to remove the excess oil on your skin. You should towel dry or pat dry the affected areas as brushing hard may spread the infection to other areas on your face.

  3. Step 3

Avoid using oily creams and lotions. Females must use an oil free foundation as an oily one will clog up the pores and all make up must be removed at night.

  4. Step 4

Apply witch hazel to the affected areas twice every day, once in the morning and before bedtime. Witch hazel has been proven to banish spots and acne.

  5. Step 5

Watch your diet. You should cut back on the amount of greasy fatty foods such as burgers, chips, pizza and chocolate. While these items may not cause acne they will no doubt make the problem worse. At least four portions of fruit and vegetables should be consumed daily.

  6. Step 6

Drink 2 litres of water daily. Water helps flush toxins from the skin and body as a whole.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not get disheartened if you get acne, it is the most common complaint in teenagers, and over 16 million alone in the US suffer from it.
  • The most important thing is to commence the above steps as soon as you realise you have acne.
  • If your acne persists or gets worse it is important to see a doctor for medical advice and perhaps antibiotics.
