Things You'll Need:
- 1/4 Cup dried bay leaves, crushed
- 1 Tbsp. dried sage
- 4 Cups of Spring Water
-
Step 1
Pour water in a stainless steel saucepan and bring to the boil. Do not use aluminum as residue will come off the pan into your flea tea. Add the bay leaves and sage. Turn down to a very low simmer for 20 minutes.
-
Step 2
Remove from heat, let cool and then strain through cheese cloth to remove bay leaves and sage.
-
Step 3
When you have just bathed your pet. Pour a cup of this solution (or more if the pet is larger) on your pet and comb through all it's fur. Do not rinse.
-
Step 4
This is safe for the animal and safe for your environment. And if you have surface fleas under control, will keep the stray flea brought in from the outside from making a home on your pet.

on 12/22/2008 The tea is very good. And, it won't harm your pets in any way. Thanks for the comments and questions.

on 12/22/2008 Sylvano...I keep my cat from scratching where I don't want her to by tacking pieces of carpet on a couple of door facings and brushing them with a little catnip tea. Cleo loves catnip and so she has started scratching there.

on 12/22/2008 I have an outdoor/indoor dog and two indoor cats. This sounds like the easiest way to keep fleas under control.

on 11/4/2008 By the By....you can bring fleas into the house on your shoes, etc. And, you can pick them up in the grass, other pet owner's homes, even other people in rare occassions.
