How to Get into and through Archon's Knot in Fable 2

Archon's Knot is a mini-dungeon that becomes available later in the game. At the end, it contains one of the game's best weapons: the legendary katana "Daichi." Getting to Archon's Knot is tricky if you don't know how, but really easy if you're in the know.

Things You'll Need

• Brightwood Tower
• 250,000 gold to buy Brightwood Tower
• To have reached Bloodstone

Instructions

1. Advance the story. The whole trick to getting into Archon's Knot is advancing the story. Even though you may be in the right general area to enter it, Archon's Knot does not become available until you have gotten to Bloodstone, then gone back to Brightwood Tower and purchased it.

2. Save up 250,000 gold. You will need this much to purchase Brightwood Tower. You cannot enter Archon's Knot without buying the tower. This is relatively easy to do if you invest heavily in property.

3. Go to the level of Brightwood Tower with the Cullis Gate on it. You should have already gone through the Cullis Gate. It is the large, circular stone apparatus on the ground. Note that there is a stone railing that encompasses the area. There should be a break in it. If there is not, you have not advanced the story far enough. If there is, go to the break and look down. You should see a hollow tower below you. Jump down and you will enter Archon's Knot.

4. Go through the dungeon. Archon's Knot is quite straightforward. There are no enemies inside and there is only one tunnel to take. Follow the tunnel through until you get to the metal plates with holes in them. If you step on the wrong plates, you will take damage. While it is possible to simply run across them if you have enough health, there is an easier way. Look across the area for a wall of candles. Note the arrangement of candles: they will be arranged in rows and columns, just like the tiles on the floor. Where there is a lit candle, there is an un-trapped tile. Simply follow that order across, and you will go through without damage.

5. Keep an eye out for shooting/smashing orbs. There will be several throughout the Knot. You should know the drill with these: hit them if they are blue, shoot them if they turn yellow. Keep hitting them until they stick into a stone.

6. Head through the far end. Once you make it through to the end, you will see a door that takes you back to Brightwood Tower. No, the treasure (the Daichi) is not in the Knot itself; it is out the other end. Go through the door and follow the path. The treasure chest containing the Daichi is on a platform on your right. Congratulations!

Tips & Warnings

• You will have to do a quick backtrack near the end of the Knot. If you can't get past a door, go back a room.
