How to Add Decimal Numbers

When you have a series of decimal numbers, and want to add them up, what do you do with those pesky decimals?

Instructions

1. 

   Look at the numbers in the picture. We want to add them up. But what do we do with the decimals?

2. 

   Line up the decimals. So you are adding the correct numbers!

3. 

   Add zeros to the right side, as place holders.If there isn't a decimal, such as in the number 800, add one! Keeping the numbers to the right of the decimal in neat columns will make it easier to add.

4. 

   Now add up the numbers!
