How to Make Swiss Flank Steak and Rice

This is one of our favorite recipes! If you have any leftover, the Flank Steak also makes a great cold sandwich to take to take on a Fall hike or picnic!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 1/2 lb. Flank Steak
  • Flour
  • 3 tbsp. canola oil
  • 1 small diced onion
  • 1 8 oz. can tomato paste
  • l minced clove of garlic
  • 1/4 tsp. paprika
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • l cup of hot water
  • Rice
  1. Step 1

    Trim fat and membrane from steak. Cut into 1/2 inch strips when steak is still partially frozen.

  2. Step 2

    Roll strips of steak in flour; In large skillet, brown steak strips and diced onion in canola oil.

  3. Step 3

    Stir in 2 more tablespoons of flour for thickening and then add all remaining ingredients.

  4. Step 4

    Cover and simmer for l hour or until meat is tender. Serve over hot cooked rice.
