How to Make Oatmeal Bath
Commercial oatmeal baths are convenient and are often recommended for itchy skin, but you can make your own from regular oatmeal. Add powdered milk or corn starch for a little extra luxury. Relax in a warm oatmeal bath and treat your skin to a soothing home remedy. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Oatmeal
- Dry milk powder (optional)
- Corn starch (optional)
- Grinder or blender

Add 1 cup of dried rolled oats to a spice grinder or blender and create a powder.

Add 1/2 cup of dried powdered milk or 1 tablespoon of corn starch, if desired. Powdered milk is beneficial to the skin and safe for even the most sensitive skin types

Add about 1/2 cup of this mixture to your bath water, and watch the tub turn a little cloudy. Soak for a while and rinse off with warm water, not soap. Your skin will feel softer for days.

Save the leftover portion for another day. You can make it in larger quantities and store it in a jar or another container. Consider adding a few drops of lavender essential oil, for a lively, relaxing scent.

You can also skip the grinding and place the oats in a muslin or cheesecloth bag, or an old nylon stocking, and throw the whole bag under the running bath water.
